With SRS1 complete and the data in it’s time to look at who did what. Saturday morning started with the sun out and for those of you that got there early managed to get a few runs in, but by noon it started to rain which stopped play until about three in the afternoon. Santa Pod did their best to dry the track and started sending cars up it. Funny how some cars managed to hook and others had big problems - just goes to show how different each car is and how tuning is so important. So on to who finished where V8 Class1st SR425 9.78 @ 136.94NeverMind, had a good start to the day with two NA runs in the tens a 10.36 and 10.29 a new PB. With the gas turned on how about a 9.78 another PB and a 1st place too. One more run ended up with no traction and he still managed an 11.93 @ 113 a good day I would say. Congratulations well dissevered.2nd SR389 10.11 @ 147.30Toddy, Started the day at Shakey and like a true Street Racers turned around and drove to Santa Pod to join us. Toddy had two runs in the tens both of which looked soft off the line and then he brought the power in, how about a new PB of 148mph. Now what you need to take into account here is that it was on the low boost setting! Come on Toddy let the beast out of that animal. The smile on his face after his run turned his day into a good one even with rain!Toddy SRS2 is at Santa Pod mate... 3rd SR436 10.48 @ 136.98At last a Mustang in the top 3 well done Jeff. The big block Mustang managed four runs all of which were in the tens and considering the conditions very consistent how 10.49, 10.55, 10.48 and a 10.50 ranging from 132 to 136mph. Keep the good work up Jeff.4th SR92 10.74 @ 134.41It was good to see ZephyrC at the track fit and well, the old Zephyr was running strong having fitted a new roller cam over winter. A total of two runs a NA run of 12.05 @ 112 and with the gas turned on and with a 1.3 second reduction in time put this ZephyrC back into the tens.5th SR370 101.49 @ 134.77Last years Champion RingMan was not in his usual place at the top of the list, reasons could have been the weather, the track or both but the Camaro did struggle off the line, first run was in the twelve’s at 133mph second with a slightly better 60ft was an eleven again in the 130’s. I’m sure things will change in the next round.6th SR450 11.520 @ 124.17Lovely to see yet another Mustang in the top ten MustangLimey had three runs with the first being a new PB the red Mustang ran 12.03 @ 116mph so close to an eleven, next run was a 12.28 @ 119mph and final run of day another PB this time with gas went 11.52 @124mph and that was with a bog off the line!7th SR111 11.88 @ 121Binky was a really early bird doing two runs before ten, first run in the silver Corvette was straight in to the elevens a 11.92 @ 119mph and then followed this with a 11.88 not bad for his daily driver! Sorry I missed you hopefully cya at SRS2. Come on Binky get that Veeteor out for SRS28th SR365 12.25 @ 111Pro67 made SRS1 after a lot of work to the rear of the car new arches to fit the rudder that goes inside it, and several late nights installing a nitrous kit, so how did it go. First run in the morning returned a 12.25 a new PB then it rained, later that afternoon another run returned a 12,26 @ 110 consistent! As for the gas unfortunately rain stopped Pro67 from using it. Next time Dave.9th SR448 13.56 @ 106MoBo’s Camaro managed two runs after the second lot of rain its was gone six o’clock but managed a 13.56 and a 13.61 both @ 106mph good to have on board Mobo and I hope we see you at SRS24-6 Class1st SR435 11.32 @ 127This little Escort had been running 10’s in the morning on slicks and when rain stopped play Darren decided to put the street tyres on and prayed that rain would stop so he could get some points. His first run on treads a 11.68 @ 127mph than a 11.61 @126mph and finally a 11.32 @ 127 and took first place for SRS1. Another run managed to spin the axles tubes at diff. no doubt that has already been fixed!2nd SR183 11.57 @ 115Last years Champion was out to play Mick’s Cortina managed three runs before the first lot of rain. First was a 12.03 second dipped him into the elevens a 11.87 and the third return him another eleven a 11.57 @ 115mph. At this point the clutch decided it had had enough and decided that was it for the day.3rd Westy 12.64 @ 108mphWe all know that sound of silence, a car flies by on full throttle and all of a sudden it goes very quiet you turn round and look up the track waiting for the screech of tyres, it’s at this point everything turns back in to real time and you see Westy doing some sort of pirouette through the finish line. Respect where it’s due, lovely bit of driving saved the car and had a 12 second ticket at 75mph, just need video to see if you were going backwards across the finish line!4th SR449 12.93 @ 104Al’s Vaux Chevette sillysmall boxthingy that’s what’s in his details page ? made 9 passes though out the day well done that man and a bloody miracle with the rain. Eight of which were in the 13’s the 12.93 @ 104 was his best and his first run of the day. Interesting car with an interesting paint job!Lastly Shed was missed by us all, he had problems on the way and had to be taken home by the AA all I will say is a certain person was running around like a ringless chicken, was funny but I am not sure he should be left with a car with that much power all on his own! Just mention MSD to him. (Sorry RingMan had to be mentioned) Roll on SRS2. SneakyPete Back to top |

A very wet Saturday left a lot of us wondering what the hell we were doing in a sport where you need to pray to the sun gods every day and every night for the sun to come out, just a cloudy dry day would have been nice! But hey the smile we all get driving these cars is enough for us to keep going. Twelve cars turned out for the Peak performance day and with the weather as it was not a bad turn out. Sunday sees another five turn up to join us. Finally got my new camera and the pictures and slow-motion video were amazing, videos have been uploaded for your enjoyment. So running order for the weekend was V8 Class1st SR370 9.69 @ 147.78Last round the champion was in fifth place, Ringman sorted this out in style collecting 1st place for SRS2. Ringman ran four low tens and then had three runs in the nine’s his lowest on the Saturday!2nd SR425 9.74 @ 138.12Round one winner finished in seconded place and a new PB Nevermind also ran four low tens and had three runs in the nine’s his best run came on Sunday, I bet Nevermind still went home with a smile.3rd SR389 9.80 @ 149.20Toddy was out to play for just Saturday, what can we say he had three runs, two ten’s and a nine second pass all in the 140mph zone, now this was on the high boost setting which returned a new mph PB and with only 1st and second gear!4th SR450 11.83 @ 105.21MustangLimey only managed to run a twelve and an eleven at this point Limey had clutch problems so his day ended early, disappointing for us because he did look good in his new racesuit.5th SR111 11.94 @ 121.19Good to actually see Binky as he turned up raced and left before I got there last time! Binky did his usually Blagged it down the motorway on his way to the track ran in the elevens and went home smiling.6th SR1 12.52 @ 118.33Unfortunately for Limey Sneaky’s back only did two test runs to see what Air Fuel was running and with a supercharger 15.5 AF was too high, decided to drive it home in one bit, need more fuel.7th SR365 12.59 @ 92.63Pro67 was on for a good run only to end up crossing the finish line with less car than he started, another car with gear box woes broken converter left Pro67 with big holes in the bell housing.8th SR448 12.870 @ 108.85Mobo was out to get a twelve this weekend and with his 60ft times in the 2 second bracket returned a fourteen and some thirteen’s and then with a 60ft of 1.77 a twelve it was a happy man he was and with a stick Cool.9th SR445 13.75 @ 100.60Mark was back with the little white Vette and in the top ten, he had two runs in the thirteen’s the 13.75 a new PB so another happy man, any new parts on the way Mark?10th SR441 14.62 @ 94.41Chicky joins us in his Stingray with new bits applied to the engine was hoping for thirteen’s, Chicky is a star in the slowmo video where you can see why he didn’t manage it, wheel spin kept him in the fourteens.11th SR71 16.25 @ 85.19NightmaresRacing's awesome Cortina Van was out to play for the first time this year and the paint job looked even better in real life, the van had a few teething problems so ended up with a sixteen second pass, more to come we think.12th SR141 18.25 @ 73.12Can only believe that Dave had problems so one run and an eighteen finished last this time round.4-6 class1st SR451 10.40 @ 133.01SR451 turned up in a VW Golf and a very well prepared one too. This golf turned the gas on and had seven runs in the tens not too shabby for your first event and took first place too, no gas returned a low eleven one quick car well done.2nd SR435 11.51 @ 125.34Darren’s Escort was out and entertaining on the track had three eleven second runs unfortunately for him he managed to break the gear box which put an end to his day and still managed second on the day.3rd SR129 12.59 @ 110.37Westy was back after his pirouette last time out, had to completely rebuild the engine and finished running it in on the way to the track! A couple of runs in the thirteen’s and a twelve keeps him in points fight.4th SR145 12.99 @ 120Supraman has been a very busy adding a new turbo to the Supra in aid of more power and a 120mph indicates the potential of this car, lets see an eleven second ticket for this Supra next time out.5th SR189 0.00 @ 0.00That’s right Mick didn’t move much more than a couple of feet, the moment he dropped the clutch the gear box gave up and with it’s blood pouring beneath the car and his day was done, still get ten points for turning up.SneakyPete Back to top |
